Study Pathways
Studying at CIT provides you with the opportunity to further your studies at university through “pathways”. Many of our international students choose this method of study to achieve their desired qualification.
Pathways give you recognition for studies completed at CIT towards a degree at various Australian universities.
CIT has a number of formal agreements with the following universities across Australia and New Zealand;
- Australian Catholic University CRICOS Provider No. 00873F (ACT)
- Australian National University CRICOS Provider No. 00120C
- Charles Sturt University CRICOS Provider No. 00005F (NSW)
- University of Canberra (www.canberra.edu.au/cit-pathways) CRICOS Provider No. 00212K
- University of Technology Sydney CRICOS Provider No. 00099F
- Southern Institute of Technology, New Zealand
When considering pathway options for CIT programs, please take into consideration the amount of advanced standing that you will receive and the number of credit points you will require to fulfil the degree requirements once at university.
For example, if you successfully complete the Advanced Diploma of Business you will receive a total of 128 credit points of advanced standing (2 years) towards the 3-year Bachelor of Business Studies course delivered at CIT.
Another example of a pathway is students who successfully complete the Advanced Diploma of Interior Design and gain a place at the University of Canberra will receive 2 years credit into the 3-year Bachelor of Interior Design.
If formal agreements are not in place with the particular university that you wish to apply to you are able to present your qualification from CIT for consideration at your chosen university.
The Australian Qualification Training Framework (AQTF) allows for the portability of qualifications, which means the universities will consider granting credit for previous studies towards a university qualification. To find out more visit www.aqf.edu.au.
