Study Pathways
Studying at CIT provides you with the opportunity to further your studies at university through "pathways". Many of our International students choose this method of study to achieve their desired qualification. Pathways give you recognition for studies completed at CIT towards a degree at various Australian universities.
CIT has a number of formal agreements with universities across Australia. These include:
For example if you successfully complete the Advanced Diploma of Business Accounting you will receive a total of 30 credit points towards the 72 credit points required for the Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Major) at the University of Canberra. Another example of a pathway is if you successfully complete the Advanced Diploma of Interior Design you will be eligible to apply for direct entry into the third year of the three year Bachelor of Interior Design at the University of Canberra. CIT also offers a Foundation Studies Program that provides you with an ACT Year 12 Certificate of matriculation. This does not guarantee you a place at University. You will need to achieve the required UAI (University Admission Index) score to be considered for entry to University. When enrolling into the Certificate II in Foundation Studies you will select subjects that are relevant to the course that you will undertake at University. If formal agreements are not in place with the particular university that you wish to apply to you are able to present your qualification from CIT for consideration at your chosen university. The Australian Qualification Training Framework (AQTF) allows for the portability of qualifications, which means the universities will consider granting credit for previous studies towards a university qualification.
