Australian School Based Apprenticeships (ASBAs)
What's an Australian School-Based Apprenticeship (ASBA)? A CIT ASBA helps any secondary student aged 15 or over to start an apprenticeship. It lets you get your future career underway earlier and gives you paid work while you train. ASBAs are all about increasing your options for work and study. What does it mean? It means that you'd continue with your school studies, spend some of your school time working with an employer, and some school time studying at CIT. What kinds of ASBAs does CIT have available? We can help you access over 37 different ASBAs in the ACT, including:
Why do an ASBA with CIT? CIT is Canberra's leading vocational education and training provider and we've been working closely with high schools, colleges and local Canberra businesses to develop ASBAs that will kickstart your career when you leave college or help you be up to halfway through your chosen qualification when you start at CIT. An ASBA lets you finish college, with both a Year 12 Certificate and a great qualification. You could then head straight out to work as a highly skilled employee, upgrade the skills you’ve already learnt by finishing off the next step in your CIT qualification or even combine work and study with one of CIT's many other courses. In fact, CIT will guarantee a place for any student who has successfully completed nationally accredited vocational studies. How do I find out more? 1.
