Cabinet Making - Certificate III


Summary:This program provides traditional and contemporary outcomes in cabinet making trade. Both pathways: (Furniture) and (Kitchen and Bathroom) cover a broad skill base associated with traditional trade as well as contemporary manufacturing practices, site installation, interior decorating and design influences, CAD drawing and CNC programming and machining.

Job Opportunities:Trade level outcomes for those working in: manufacture of solid timber furniture, domestic furniture, commercial furniture, kitchen and bathroom cabinets and furniture components, manufacture and installation of fitted furniture typically in a kitchen, bathroom, domestic and commercial built in furniture related context. Entry Requirements:  You must,
- be able to read and write documents and understand maths concepts to a level required to complete Year 10 (early in your program your skills will be checked. If you cannot read and write documents and complete maths work to the level needed, you will be enrolled in additional subjects to help you build the skills needed to successfully complete the program)

If you are entering this program as an Apprentice under the Australian Apprenticeships arrangements, you must be employed in the industry and you must register with an Australian Apprenticeships Centre (AAC) prior to enrolment

Additional Information:  You will need to provide clothing and appropriate safety footwear suitable for working on a construction site and personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, dust masks and hearing protection.

In each year of study at CIT you will be required to work on practical projects and purchase them on completion at the cost of materials
