Animal Technology - Certificate III & Diploma


Program Summary: This program provides the training to be responsible for a wide range of companion and laboratory animals. Study areas encompass animal handling, husbandry, breeding, nutrition, animal disease and animal surgical techniques.

with early exit at
Certificate III in Animal Technology (RUV30104)
These qualifications meet the requirements of the Animal Care and Management Training Package (RUV04)

Job Opportunities:
Diploma: Animal technologist in scientific laboratories, educational institutions, veterinary hospitals, domestic animal shelters and other animal related industries
Certificate III: Animal care attendants in research and educational institutions, veterinary practices, kennels and other animal related industries

Entry Requirements: You must have an ACT Year 12 Certificate (or equivalent) OR be Mature Age (turn at least 20 in first year of study)
Appropriate bridging units in mathematics, chemistry and computing are available if required

Additional Information: You are encouraged to combine relevant part-time employment with the advanced stages of your study program. You will be required to wear suitable protective clothing when dealing with animals and in the laboratory.
