Accounting - Advanced Diploma


Program Summary: Graduates of the Advanced Diploma of Accounting qualify for associate membership of the National Institute of Accountants. The strong emphasis on information technology and practical accounting skills in our accounting course equip you to quickly become a productive member of an accounting environment. The Advanced Diploma articulates into the Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Canberra.

Advanced Diploma:
Professional accountant, banker, tax agent, financial manager, consulting and strategic business planning, small business advisor
Diploma: Assistant accountant (inventory, payroll, accounts receivable and payable, computerised bookkeeping and costing), budget officers, office managers, administration managers
Certificate IV: Office manager, accounts assistant, fixed asset clerk
Certificate III: Cashier, book-keeper, accounts payable/receivable assistant, payroll assistant

Entry Requirements: You must:
- have an ACT Year 12 Certificate (or equivalent) with an English major
OR
- be Mature Age (turn at least 20 in first year of study).
OR
- have a Certificate II in Financial Services (or equivalent) AND one year’s relevant work experience

Credit Transfer: The Advanced Diploma and Diploma provide credit into:
University of Canberra
- Bachelor of Commerce (all majors including Accounting, Banking and Finance Services, Business and Management, and Financial Planning)(Advanced Diploma only)
- Bachelor of Business Informatics
- Bachelor of Business Administration
Arrangements are currently under negotiation for credit from the Advanced Diploma into:
Australian National University
- Bachelor of Commerce
