Freedom of Information


The ACT Freedom of Information ACT 1989 (FOI Act) provides citizens with the right to access all documents in the possession of the ACT Government, subject to prescribed exemptions.

Access to documents

Members of the public (and therefore students) who wish to obtain information are encouraged to seek access in the first instance by contacting the Institute directly rather than seeking formal access under the Freedom of Information legislation.

The Institute’s Freedom of Information Coordinator can be contacted on (02) 6207 3394.

Access to documents under the FOI Act can also be requested in person at Reception, Office of the Chief Executive, First Floor E Block, Reid Campus between the hours of 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
